what a weekend-- interpol on friday, world cup rugby finals and oregon-washington football saturday, and a beachhouse visit sunday on the Oregon coast...
offering the acoustics of a prison mess hall, the colisuem is not the place I want to see a band like Interpol, but then again- its Capitol Records- and they really don't give a damn about anything except exposing as many potential future "con$umer$" as possible to a band while they're hot... I suppose I don't blame the record labels for squeezing as much revenue out as possible before they begin to crumble now that bands like radiohead are taking advantage of the internet to eliminate any of the past distribution / production based value they may have offered... listeners don't care- they just want the music- and they are the one's in control no matter what the labels think...
just finished watching South Africa take England in the Rugby finals... was at Kell's but the dish wasn't taking in the feed because of the heavy rains today-- watched it instead at a s.african buddy's place-- always more fun when someone is passionate about the outcome. i didn't bother to tell him i was pulling for England though.
And now, it's time for the Ducks against UW-- can't wait til we step on their throats this evening. Go Ducks.
